Amanda Lin
Amanda Lin, a native Chinese speaker, grew up in Taiwan. She loves Chinese culture and folk art. She has been teaching Saturday Chinese School for 11 years. She coordinates Chinese culture youth camp for her Chinese school and teaches Chinese folk art to local youth clubs and community.
She believes multicultural experiences and education, "Fill in the gaps among communities. People from different countries will understand each other better, which will allow later generations to bond with other people with different ethnicity and cultures.
Amanda uses lecture, media, and hands-on practice in her classes. She demonstrates techniques step-by-step and also shares video clips. Students are welcome to ask questions during the class or email her after class. Students are able to show and talk about their art projects at the end of the course.
Amanda's Teaching Style & Approach
She describes her teaching style as "student-centered" and explains by saying, "I try my best to incorporate the needs of the students within my lessons. I wish for the students to both use their own creativity and the techniques that I teach within my class to create their own individualistic masterpieces."
Amanda wants people to enjoy the experience and says, "I hope students feel warm and supported in my class."
