Art Students Selected for the Invitational Show in May

Two photos on top of two students standing in front of their framed art, the bottom half is a student and teacher standing in front of framed art, and the center says Congratulations, art students.

Three Continuing Education students participated in the Student Invitational at Seattle Central's M. Rosetta Hunter Art Gallery. The show was juried by Negarra A. Kudumu, an independent scholar and curator of contemporary art.

Ly, Ravish, and Roberto all applied and were selected to participate. Their art was on display in May in Seattle Central's small but professional-quality gallery the afternoon following Central's Unity Fair. It was also the night of the Capitol Hill Art Walk.

Congratulations and well done, everyone! Special awards were given to a few artists, including Ravish, who won the Assistant Curator's Choice Award.

Students enrolled in spring classes each year are invited to apply to this annual student show. Applicants submit images of original artwork in April.

Here they are pictured with their art at the Opening Reception on May 21, along with their instructor, Georgetta Gancarz.
