Nicole Li
Nicole Li is an instructor with our Cannabis Institute. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Nicole also obtained a Master of Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, focusing on medical research ethics and health policy, and also holds a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Brown University, where she graduated with honors.
Nicole worked as a Legal Advisor to New Zealand’s Health and Disability Commissioner before returning to her hometown of Seattle to begin her private legal practice. She established The Li Law Firm to help health care providers interact with regulators, such as the Department of Health, successfully preserving the professional licenses of dozens of providers, and also facilitates relationships with payors, from forming contracts to defending against audits.
In 2013, Nicole opened a separate practice group within her health care law firm, Northern Lights Legal Services, to serve the legal Cannabis industry. She has published in several arenas, including the King County Medical Society Bulletin and the New Zealand Journal of Bioethical Inquiry.
Nicole is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the King County Bar Association. She holds the position of Vice President of the International Community Health Services Foundation Board of Directors. Nicole has served on the International Community Health Services Foundation Board for seven years.
