Class Overview

Would you like to cultivate body awareness through movement? Explore a grounded and natural approach to moving your body, led by a contemporary dance instructor.

Through floorwork, movement sequences, and phrasing, this class cultivates body awareness. Explore efficiency in movement transitions. Develop a deeper understanding of how your body moves naturally in relation to the floor, emphasizing organic flow, continuity, spirality, softness, core engagement, and the intelligent use of gravity.

Open your mind and body through guided movement! Explore points of support, releasing tension, and engaging the core to facilitate flow and prevent injury. Movement principles will draw from contemporary dance and somatic practices, encouraging dancers to move with clarity, sensitivity, and presence.

This class is for dancers, actors, physical theater artists, yoga/movement practitioners, and anyone interested in exploring movement in their bodies -- no experience necessary.
