Class Overview
Create amazing mosaics art work using glass and tiles. Learn about the materials, exciting designs, process, and forms you can make with this medium.
In this class, learn basic techniques and materials for making mosaics, with a focus on tile and glass. Get inspiration from seeing a variety of traditional and modern styles, including the Italian style of “pietre dure,” using a special hard stone.
For the first class, the instructor will supply a simple design for students to follow. In the subsequent classes, students will create their own patterns. Explore ideas for projects you can do with mosaic such as art for the garden, indoor displays, and small tile “paintings,” as well as design ideas such as flowers, animals, and mandalas.
Leave the class with dazzling, colorful, finished projects that you can proudly display in your home, or give to others as gifts.
