Develop Color Film At Home

Class Overview

Learn the art and science of developing your own color film at home -- the old fashioned way!

Take control of your film by understanding the science and methodology behind silver gelatin film development. In this course you will learn the tools and techniques necessary to properly develop your own film. This is a fascinating, experimental and creative hands-on process, much different from digital photography.

At the end of this course you will understand the difference between color and black and white film development, ISO and grain, pushing and pulling film, and proper film storage. We will also cover what you can do with your film once it is developed.

Gain an understanding about the science behind analog photography, as well as the history of film. Learn about safe techniques for chemical mixing and storage, how to properly use the equipment needed to develop film and the benefits and limitations of film vs. digital photography.

During the first meeting we will discuss the supplies needed to develop your own color film at home.
