Do you love the look and utility of handmade screen-printed clothing and posters? Discover the art and craft of screen printing in this hands-on introductory class.

Explore the fundamentals of the screen-printing process, from creating designs and preparing screens, to printing on various surfaces, and printing with multiple colors. Learn how to make a screen by painting it with photo emulsion and exposing it to light to create a stencil. Make custom prints on garments such as t-shirts and sweatshirts, or posters, cards, and hand bills.

Through guided and personal projects, explore both traditional and experimental techniques while developing an understanding of color, composition, and production methods. Students will be using the College's screens, exposure units, garment press, poster board, printer, dryer, darkroom, and washout equipment.
