Understanding Artificial Intelligence
Maybe we're biased here in the Seattle metro area, but it seems like on a typical day it does not take long to bump into Artificial Intelligence (AI). Whether it’s in the news, on social media, at work, or at a party, it’s a hot topic, and everyone is talking. AI has been integrated into our smart phones and computer systems in all sorts of visible ways, and even more so, behind the scenes. At this point, in many ways, AI is almost impossible to avoid and often it's hard to detect. Is that cat video real or AI?
People are finding it fascinating, useful, efficient, and powerful. It's also raising myriad concerns, regarding accuracy, bias, environmental impact, copyright, jobs, and more. There’s no doubt that AI is raising all sorts of significant issues.
Are you wondering how to understand both the opportunities and threats? How can people figure out the best way to participate, and not feel left behind, while also establishing personal safeguards and systemic regulations? Who benefits the most and where is all of this headed? A lot of change happening at a mind-bending pace.
If you’d like to be proactive in learning more about Artificial Intelligence, but you're not sure how to go about it, here are a few educational resources to help you get started.
