Koa A. Tom is a Seattle-based photographer. They are interested in the continuum between people and the rest of nature.

With degrees in Entomology and Photography, they bring a focus on observation. They enjoy focusing their attention on others and sharing their joy and experience in photography.

Koa has photographed throughout their life and careers, from within their living room to savannahs in Kenya; from zookeeper to forensic scientist. Koa wishes to share this same curiosity and creativity with others.

Koa's Teaching Style & Approach

Koa uses a variety of approaches to teaching. They describe their classes as "inclusive and safe," explaining, "I foster inquisitiveness rather than present dogma by teaching the boundaries." 

Koa values openness and exploration. They see teaching as "an exchange" and say, "I presume to learn as much from my students as they do me."
